If someone were selling stock in kombucha I would be first in line. All that tart and funky effervescent goodness is my go-to on days when I need to settle my stomach, detox after to much drank, kick an oncoming cold, energize without caffeine, hydrate with something more exciting than water, or keep myself awake on a road trip when what I really want is a Diet Dr. Pepper and entire bag of Cheetos. Now the giant mushoom that could is cropping up in beauty products. Turns out that fermented black tea may improve skin tone, tighten pores, brighten and even soften fine lines when applied topically. My favorite of the fungus bunch: EmerginC Scientific Organics Kombucha Cleanser ($34). A delicate gel cleanser with a light citrus scent, it’s super refreshing after a workout or a day of photoshoots when I want a deep cleanse that’s still gentle. If you’re into the double-cleanse method, it would be ideal after your oil cleanser!
